Drill rod is a structural member that supports rock drill bits to transmit the impact stress and torque of rock drill. There are many types of drill rods. As far as the connection method between drill rod and rock drill bit, there are tapered drill rods and threaded extension rods. Tapered end of drill rods connects with drill bits, while the shank collar end connect with rock drills. Threaded extension rod is a hollow circular or hollow hexagonal drill rod with threads at both ends or one end of the rod. It is the main component of the threaded extension drill tools. Quality of drill rods has a lot to do with quality of steel grade and smelting, but whether the manufacturing process is reasonable is also very important.

Threaded extension rod
Raw material preparation→Cutting to length→Straightening→Forging and upsetting of the thread part→Annealing and softening of the upsetting part→Turning the end face→Chamfering the inner and outer corners→Roughing the outer circle→Turning the thread (including transition groove)→Milling the trigger groove (round drill rod) → Geometric dimension inspection → Heat treatment (including thread and rod) → Hardness inspection → Surface strengthening treatment → Finished product straightening → Anticorrosion → Final product quality inspection → Packaging → Packing and put in storage.
